We’re hugely looking forward to two big nights of live music here at The Owls Nest. We’ve lined up two exciting acts which will blow your mind away!
Saturday 14th October : Totog – an evening of Rock, Pop, Funk and Motown
Have a watch of the video below to experience the great range of music that Totog play.
Saturday 28th October : Jo Carley and The Old Dry Skulls – Throwing old time, alt country and punk into a backwoods still to make musical moonshine.
We are delighted that The Old Dry Skulls will be making a welcome return to The Owls Nest with their unique genre-bending music. This is absolutely not one to be missed – it will be a Hallowe’en party like no other!
Check out their latest video!
These music nights will undoubtedly be hugely popular – we strongly urge you to book a table in advance! Contact us to book.
Thursday 6th July : Acoustic Irish folk session, from 8.00pm. Our regular Irish night which is justifiably popular with our regulars.
Saturday 15th July : Freeborn Brothers, from 9.00pm. Billed as ‘gypsy, hobo, trash grass’ from Poland – what’s not to like?
‘We wanna bring you chaos! We wanna give you fun! We wanna take you for a trip to our world where gypsy heart meets american folk, where melodies and energy means more then anything else before! the FREEBORN BROTHERS are here to give you relief in hard times, to put smile on your face and sweat a lot! YO!’
Wed 26th July : Stan’s Blues Jam. From 8.30pm. Some fantastic local talent jamming the blues!
Sat 29th July : Moonshine Wagon, from 9.00pm. Another international band coming to Parley – to play ‘bluegrass acoustic punk’. More madness at the Owls Nest!
In May the Bourne River Morris Men visited the Owls Nest and performed in the car park on a lovely evening in May.
Formed in 1967, the Bourne River Morris Men are members of the Morris Ring. They perform dances mainly from the Cotswold area. They take their colours and the fishes symbol from the Bournemouth coat of arms.
The Owls Nest also welcomes the Mummers over the Christmas period.

Many of our friends from all over the place are looking forward to the 2017 edition of our annual Pie and Ale Festival (aka the Beer Festival 2017.) We’ve now been running these for a good few years in an attempt to brighten up the dark days and nights after Christmas and New Year. In case you’ve missed it the dates are as follows:
Friday 27th, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January 2017
We will have live music on the Friday and Saturday nights and on the Sunday evening as usual – details to follow. What’s more we will tempt you to our range of delicious hot pies to help soak up the beer – available until 8.30pm.
In order to whet (wet?) your appetites here are some of the beers we’ve been pulling in from further afield for the festival period – there will be MANY more from more local and regional brewers. We look forward to seeing you here!
