The Owls Nest is listed again in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide for 2020. Come and try our fine real ales!
That means the Owls Nest has been in the guide for 9 years on the bounce! We have in recent years been East Dorset CAMRA’s rural pub of the year – if you enjoy fine real ale the Owls Nest is one of the best pubs around!
We’re delighted to announce that the Owl’s Nest will once again be holding its own beer festival with added bits. This annual tradition is all of 5 years’ old, and a firm fixture in the local beer, pie and music lovers’ calendar. As before there will be a wide range of local, regional and national real ales, a few ciders and perries, and a selection the Owl’s Nest’s famous home made pies.
18 Ales and 8 different pies – at least!

We are very pleased to announce details of our 2019 Beer Festival – otherwise known as the Owls Nest Pie and Ale Festival! We hope that you will want to come and join us from Friday 1st February through to Sunday 3rd February. It’s that boring time of year when nothing’s going on – apart from our annual beer festival!
We will have 18 – probably more – fantastic real ales plus the odd cider on offer over the bar and from our festival stills in the restaurant area. You will also be able to sample our fantastic, home made pies (last orders 8.30pm).
If that’s not enough we have live music on Saturday night and Sunday evening:
For those who are interested here is the evidence that the World Cup sweepstake draw has been made. It was performed after the last envelope was taken on 4 June and the team names were drawn at random by Owls Nest royalty, as promised – namely Queen Sheila, Princess Jan and Prince Andrew.
