That means the Owls Nest has been in the guide for 7 years on the bounce!  We are also celebrating being East Dorset CAMRA’s rural pub of the year – if you enjoy fine real ale the Owls Nest is one of the best pubs around!

Beer Festival 2018 dates announced

Beer Festival (aka Pie and Ale Festival) 2018 dates

All our friends and local beer lovers will be delighted to hear that there will be another Pie and Ale Festival in 2018. The dates will be

Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 January 2018.

The beer festival will run from Friday lunchtime until Sunday night and there will be live music on Saturday night and Sunday evening. We hope that you will want to come and chase away the post Christmas and New Year blues … by trying lots of lovely real ale and our famous homemade pies.

We are delighted that The Old Dry Skulls will be making a welcome return to The Owls Nest with their unique genre-bending music. This is absolutely not one to be missed – it will be a Hallowe’en party like no other!

July music events at the Owls Nest

We look forward to welcoming you to the Owls Nest for music and fun during the heady days and nights of July. We have some very exciting gigs planned for you which are certain to be very popular – please book early if you want to guarantee a place to sit and eat.

Thursday 6th July : Acoustic Irish folk session, from 8.00pm. Our regular Irish night which is justifiably popular with our regulars.

Saturday 15th July : Freeborn Brothers, from 9.00pm. Billed as ‘gypsy, hobo, trash grass’ from Poland – what’s not to like?

‘We wanna bring you chaos! We wanna give you fun! We wanna take you for a trip to our world where gypsy heart meets american folk, where melodies and energy means more then anything else before! the FREEBORN BROTHERS are here to give you relief in hard times, to put smile on your face and sweat a lot! YO!’

Wed 26th July : Stan’s Blues Jam. From 8.30pm. Some fantastic local talent jamming the blues!

Sat 29th July : Moonshine Wagon, from 9.00pm. Another international band coming to Parley – to play ‘bluegrass acoustic punk’. More madness at the Owls Nest!

Morris comes to the Owls Nest

Bourne River Morris Men visit the Owls Nest

In May the Bourne River Morris Men visited the Owls Nest and performed in the car park on a lovely evening in May.

Formed in 1967, the Bourne River Morris Men are members of the Morris Ring. They perform dances mainly from the Cotswold area. They take their colours and the fishes symbol from the Bournemouth coat of arms.

The Owls Nest also welcomes the Mummers over the Christmas period.
